Babysitters are people too

One thing I love about Ethan is that he calls me pretty during some of my most flustered, frizzy-haired, strawberry-stains-on-my-shirt moments. Today when he got home from work (which is at lunch time these days) he said “Hi, cute lady.” I guess my look told him I didn’t feel too cute because he asked me [...]

Almost 1 year!

I think I should fill you in on some of Carver’s new talents. He now tries to feed himself with a spoon. Although the other parent in this household cringes at the mess, I think its pretty funny and I’m excited he’s taking steps toward more independent eating. Another step he took toward independent nutrition [...]

Blurb

Hi.
I just finished some scrambled eggs, toast and am drinking coffee from a mug with Ethan’s 7th grade picture on it. That’s really the only reason I’m on here, writing. The combo of the food/coffee/laughing at this mug perked me up just enough out of my tired, exasperated-ness to feel like some Friday blogging. The reason [...]

I’m back!

Ok, so there are some poor excuses for not blogging lately, however, I have a good one. Our Internet is working for the first time in almost 2 weeks! I had forgotten how dependent I am on it. Not only for the useful things like paying our bills (I just realized last night we forgot [...]

Differences…

…between Carver and Kennon
C-falls asleep every morning on our jog (despite Kennon’s efforts to play with him, tell him stories, show him trees and grab his knee; despite my efforts to talk to him, give him toys, keep him awake by making him hold my water bottle, etc)
K-enthusiastically points at every single tree we pass [...]

Catching up

Ahhhhhh…Let me wipe the chunks of carrot and cantaloupe off the chair so I can sit my freshly-showered self down, make room among the sippy-cups for my plate of cake and blog for this first time in…? I’m allowed to eat cake because I ran 3 miles today (with 50 pounds of baby!) and yesterday. [...]

I love my aunt

This is a great video of Carver laughing!

I love this kid

Camp Visit

It was another very (welcomed) low-key weekend here in Gator Nation. Sunday we went to camp to visit Uncle Sam. It was great to spend time with my little brother; he always brings out the kid in me. The little guy has a fever, so I’m going to skip each days’ details, but I’ll leave [...]

No matter where in his crib we lay him, he ends up here…
